Rikupekka Oksanen

I have been developing websites since 1999, and first laid my eyes on Zope in 2002, followed by first Plone site in 2004 at University of Jyväskylä, Finland, where I still work. My current role is team lead, customer support and training, occasional CSS-tweaking, and generally talking to people around university about their website/webapp needs and getting projects done. We now have a five-member team working with Plone, Python and JavaScripts, running on our Docker CI infra. This year we have been migrating websites from Plone 4.3. to Plone 5 with a new theme, and last summer we organized a Plone sprint. University provides a challenging, ever changing, varied environment for open source development.

I have been working with websites since the previous millennium. A Plone-user since 2004 at University of Jyväskylä, Finland. People, good user experience, getting things done, releases - that's what motivates me at work. At home I have kids, dogs, cats, a wife. Interested in the usual stuff: scifi, games, movies, epic heavy metal, writing fantasy novels.
